I'll give you a tip or two on using the manual with clutch option.
Set your clutch to button a, and handbrake to the left bumper. When down shifting, use the middle of your thumb to hit A while using the tip to hit the shift button like you normally would. When up shifting, use the tip of your thumb to catch both buttons at once. This will allow you to downshift while still using the brakes, instead of having to lift off the brakes to shift like you would with the clutch applied to the LB button.
Also, when downshifting, give the accelerator a little blip. This way, your engine and trans won't have to force themselves to match speed, which causes wheel spin/lock up in vehicles with a big difference in gear ratios.
all well and good and I do thank you for the advice, but I have the MS wheel...lol... right now I have the up and down set to the paddles, and B is the clutch... but the blip on the gas will help lots I had been trying to partly match what I figured was needed on the gas and for the most part that I do ok at.. its the fact that this is unnatural to me...
I have been on motorcycles and manual shift cars now for 20+ years, it seems odd to me not to have a shifter and to use my thumb for a clutch... I miss my 3rd peddle and or the clutch should be on the left side... its not a matter of learning how to drive a manual car, its a matter of I catch myself looking for the 3rd peddle...LOL
